LGED’s Development Works Transforming Rural Landscapes

Imran, Jhenaidah Correspondent: The continuous development activities of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) are rapidly transforming the rural areas of Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah. Significant progress in important roads, educational institutions, and infrastructure across the upazila has already improved the quality of life for local residents. Many rural roads in the region were once unusable. The damaged, patched-up roads frequently caused accidents and suffering for the public. But under the sincere supervision of Upazila Engineer Syed Shahriar Akash, various projects are now being completed at a fast pace.

It is known that around 910 meters of road from Alipur Club Mor to the Chitra River have been newly constructed. Similarly, 890 meters of road from Shahapur Ghighti to Boro Ghighti and 1,630 meters of road from Dularmundia Bazar to Chhoto Shimla have already been upgraded. With the renovation of these long-neglected roads, travel has become much smoother and more comfortable.

Additionally, under the Jhenaidah District Rural Infrastructure Development Project, several roads have been completed:
