Prime Bank Hosts Annual Risk Conference 2025

Prime Bank successfully hosted its Annual Risk Conference 2025, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a proactive risk culture and ensuring sustainable growth in alignment with regulatory standards. The conference took place recently at the Marina Yasmin Chowdhury Conference Hall at Prime Tower in Nikunja, Dhaka.

A.N.M. Moinul Kabir, Director of the Department of Off-Site Supervision (DOS), Bangladesh Bank, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Surabhi Ghosh, Additional Director of DOS, attended as the Special Guest. Nazmin Nahar, Joint Director of DOS, served as a resource person and shared valuable insights with participants.

In his welcome address, Hassan O. Rashid, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prime Bank, emphasized the bank’s unwavering commitment to developing a proactive risk culture and maintaining sustainable growth in line with regulatory expectations.

The event was attended by branch managers, members of the Executive Risk Management Committee and representatives from the Risk Management Forum of the bank. Senior leadership of Prime Bank, including Faisal Rahman, Additional Managing Director & Chief Business Officer; Md. Ziaur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer; M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director and Md. Iqbal Hossain, Deputy Managing Director, were also present.

During the sessions, experienced central bankers discussed key issues related to risk management policies, the implementation of Risk-Based Supervision (RBS), Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and the current challenges facing the banking sector. They praised Prime Bank’s strong risk management framework and its continued efforts to uphold a robust risk culture.

Kazi Naim Morshed, Head of Risk Management at Prime Bank, presented an overview of the bank’s operational risk management practices, highlighting existing challenges, the importance of effective risk identification and ongoing initiatives to strengthen preparedness against emerging risks.

Prime Bank also took the opportunity to recognize and honor the Top Proactive Risk Identifiers, acknowledging their contributions to enhancing the bank’s risk culture.

In his closing remarks, Md. Ziaur Rahman, DMD and CRO of Prime Bank, expressed gratitude to the officials of Bangladesh Bank and all Prime Bank participants. He underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration in proactively managing risks and mitigating potential threats before they arise.
