The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed higher on Tuesday (November 11), the third trading day of the week, as key Index edged up despite a slight decline in overall turnover.
According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX advanced by 12.01 points, settling at 4,872 points. The Shariah index (DSES) gained 6.45 points to close at 1,017 points, while the blue-chip index DS30 rose by 6.81 points to 1,917 points.
Market participation, however, was somewhat subdued, with total turnover dropping to Tk 339.75 crore, compared to Tk 356.33 crore in the previous session.
Of the securities traded, 183 companies posted gains, 144 saw losses, and 62 remained unchanged.
Analysts noted that despite the fall in transaction value, the rise in key Index reflected modest investor confidence and selective buying interest in fundamentally strong stocks.
