GPA-5 Students Celebrated by Santhia Association

Monshur Alam, Pabna Correspondent:  The Santhia Association in Pabna honored the outstanding students of Santhia who achieved GPA-5 in the 2025 SSC and Dakhil examinations.

The event began on Saturday, October 25, at 11 a.m. in the Santhia Upazila Parishad Auditorium with various formalities. The program started with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Swad Al Sohan, a GPA-5 student of Boalmari Kamil Madrasa. This was followed by the national anthem, seating of the invited guests, and the presentation of floral greetings.

After the discussion session, more than a hundred students received awards, including plaques of honor, certificates recognizing their talents, and gift items, presented by the guests.

The event was chaired by Mostofa Jamal Shamim, President of the Santhia Association in Pabna and owner of Kimia Specialist Center. The welcome speech was delivered by Md. Talebur Rahman, General Secretary of the organization.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Riju Tamanna, Upazila Executive Officer of Santhia. Addressing the students, she said that achieving excellent results at the secondary level is a matter of pride for their families and for the people of Santhia. She advised them to maintain this consistency, excel in HSC, and pursue careers as doctors, engineers, or responsible citizens. She emphasized acquiring extracurricular skills alongside academics and preparing themselves to be globally competent.

Special guests who delivered speeches included Md. Abdur Razzak, Pabna District Education Officer, and Anisur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Santhia Police Station.

Other notable speakers included Mir Najmul Bari Nahid, President of Santhia Development Council; Zainul Abedin Rana, former President of Santhia Press Club; Assistant Professor Abdul Hai, former General Secretary of the Press Club; Abdul Hannan, Headmaster of Nariagodai High School; Additional PP Advocate Monwar Zahid of Pabna George Court; and organization vice presidents Abdul Based and AKM Firoz Hossain, assistant teacher of Pabna District School.

Among the honored students, Fatema Khatun of Boalmari Kamil Madrasa and Gausul Alam Rafi of Santhia Upazila Parishad High School spoke about their experiences and feelings.

The District Education Officer emphasized that students should grow into ethical, ideal, and patriotic citizens. She noted that achieving an A+ is not the ultimate success; there is a long path ahead. Unless they excel in university and in life, this achievement alone will not define their success. Students must cultivate both their talents and moral, humanitarian qualities.

President and agriculturalist Mostofa Jamal Shamim outlined the organization’s goals and future plans. At the conclusion of the program, the organization announced scholarships for 12 students—4 from the association and 8 from Kimia Specialist Center—for a period of two years.

Around 300 people, including students, parents, and teachers, attended the event. Journalists from both print and electronic media were also present.

The entire program was coordinated and managed by the organization’s Joint General Secretaries, Dr. Monshur Alam and Md. Robiul Karim.
