BM Desk : Two proposals were presented by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Under the first proposal, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources sought policy approval to purchase and import refined fuel through a Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement using the Direct Purchase Procedure for the period of January to December 2026.
After reviewing the proposal, the committee recommended its policy approval, considering the importance of ensuring a stable fuel supply to meet the country’s energy demand.
The second proposal, from the Ministry of Home Affairs, pertained to the ongoing project titled “Introduction of E-passport and Automated Border Control Management in Bangladesh.”
Under the Direct Purchase Procedure, the proposal received policy approval to procure 5.7 million e-passport booklets along with a related training package, and to source raw materials for up to 10 million e-passports—including emergency supplies for 5 million units.
Following a detailed discussion, the committee recommended policy approval, citing the strategic importance of ensuring continuity in e-passport issuance and enhancing border management efficiency.
