Central Bank Urges Caution in Transactions with ShohozCash

Bangladesh Bank has stated that no application has been received to launch any Mobile Financial Services (MFS) under the name of ShohozCash Limited, nor is any such approval currently under process. The central bank has urged the public to remain cautious when engaging in any transactions or commitments with the company.

This announcement was made in a press release issued by Bangladesh Bank on Monday, October 6.

The warning follows the central bank’s attention being drawn to a job advertisement published in various national newspapers by ShohozCash Limited. The ad claimed that the company is currently in a pre-operational stage and in the process of obtaining approval from Bangladesh Bank to launch MFS.

Bangladesh Bank has clarified that this is not true — no such application has been received, and no approval process is underway for ShohozCash Limited to start any MFS operations.

In the interest of public awareness, the central bank has issued this cautionary notice advising people to be vigilant and avoid making any transactions or promises with the company.
