The Detective-Gulshan Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has apprehended three drug traffickers with 5000 Yaba tablets in the Kaptanbazar region of the capital.
The individuals taken into custody are: 1. Ehsan Ullah (40), 2. A. Gafur (50), and 3. Md. Chabir (37).
They were detained following a raid conducted in the Kaptanbazar area under the Wari police station at around 08:45 am today, Thursday (September 11, 2025).
As per sources from the DB-Gulshan Division, this morning, acting on a confidential tip-off, the illegal weapons recovery and drug control team of the DB-Gulshan Division executed a raid in the Kaptanbazar area under the Wari police station, leading to the arrest of drug dealers Ehsan Ullah, A. Gafur, and Chabir. During this operation, 5000 Yaba tablets were seized from their possession. A case has been filed against the arrested individuals under the Narcotics Control Act at Wari Police Station.
DB sources further revealed that the arrested individuals are known members of an organized drug trafficking syndicate. They admitted during preliminary questioning that they had been sourcing Yaba tablets from Cox’s Bazar for an extended period and distributing them across various locations in Dhaka city. The arrested individuals have been remanded to the court for further proceedings.
