Trading Falls Below Tk 1,000cr as Market Index Declines

All price indexes saw a decline when trading ended on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, on the fourth business day of the week. Over 300 shares of the companies engaged in the transactions saw a decline in price at the same time. In addition, the trade volume decreased from 1,177 crore taka the day before to less than 1000 crore taka.

This information was disclosed by sources from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

As per the source, on Wednesday (September 10), the primary index of the DSE, known as ‘DSEX’, experienced a decline of 65.10 points. The current value of the index stands at 5,473 points.

Furthermore, the DSE’s other index, ‘DSES’, decreased by 15.75 points, reaching 1,188 points, while the ‘DS-30’ index saw a drop of 22.92 points, settling at 2,129 points.

Today, the trading volume on the DSE amounted to 949 crore 96 lakh 76 thousand taka. In comparison, the previous working day recorded a trading volume of 1 thousand 177 crore 26 lakh 89 thousand taka.

A total of 397 shares and units from various companies were traded on the DSE today. Among the companies involved in the transactions, 43 saw an increase in their prices, while 313 experienced a decrease. Additionally, the prices of shares and units from 41 companies remained stable.
