Imran, Jhenaidah Correspondent: A health and nutrition workshop took place in Jhenaidah aimed at decreasing maternal mortality, child mortality linked to malnutrition, and preventing the spread of infectious diseases by enhancing access to government healthcare.
The event was organized by the Social Development Foundation (SDF) in collaboration with the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, held at the Harinakundu Upazila Health Complex auditorium on Sunday morning. Key speakers included Harinakundu Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Family Planning Officer Nasreen, SDF District Manager Mahmud Hasan, District Health and Nutrition Officer Dr. Anudipa Rani, IT & SIS Md. Saad Ahmed, Cluster Officer Bani Bairagi, among others.
The workshop, which involved participation from government representatives of the Upazila-level Health Department and SDF officials, emphasized various critical aspects of making nutrition and healthcare more accessible. During the session, SDF specifically addressed topics such as food and nutrition, solutions for malnutrition issues, the significance of nutrition for adolescents, disease prevention through EPI programs, the importance of healthy handwashing practices, and ensuring food security by creating nutrition gardens in households. This workshop is vital in enhancing awareness about health and nutrition among the relevant stakeholders.
Not only does the workshop inform participants about these crucial topics, but it also equips them with the training necessary to implement these practices in their daily lives.
