On the final working day of the week, the primary stock market of the country, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), is experiencing a downward trend. In the initial one and a half hours of trading today, the share prices of 181 companies have declined.

As per the source, one and a half hours after trading commenced on Thursday (August 21), specifically until 11:30 am, the main index of the DSE, known as ‘DSEX’, decreased by 12.44 points, reaching 5,366 points.
In addition to the main index, the Shariah index, referred to as ‘DSES’, dropped by 2.33 points, while the ‘DS-30’ index fell by 6.16 points, settling at 1,175 and 2,080 points respectively.
During the specified period, a total of Tk 281 crore 63 lakh 14 thousand shares and units were traded on the DSE.
Among the companies traded in this timeframe, the share prices of 117 increased, 181 decreased, and 93 remained stable.
