Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has instructed the Crock-1 to seize assets comprising 5 centuries of land, 2 flats, and a bank account containing Tk 1 crore 12 lakhs belonging to various entities of the S Alam Group.
On Thursday (August 5th), the judge, Helal Uddin, issued this directive. The court’s bench assistant, Ershad, confirmed this information to TBS.
In a separate matter, S Alam Group’s organization S is involved in loan cases amounting to Tk 2,220 crore 20 lakh. Islami Bank’s Khatunganj Branch has initiated legal proceedings against four individuals, including Alam Cold Rolled Steels Limited.
The case application details indicate that the Khatunganj branch of Pubali Bank holds Tk 1 crore 12 lakh in the company’s account, along with 2 flats measuring 5,000 square feet each in Dhaka and 3 plots of land from the 7th century.
The accused have petitioned the bank court, requesting that the court prevent the transfer of the concerned properties and bank accounts during the ongoing case, as they have not repaid the loan to the bank. The court granted the order based on the bank’s request.
