A massive march has been held towards the Water Development Board in Feni with 8-point demands, including sustainable dam construction, river dredging, and river governance.

The march, which started from Feni Central Shaheed Minar on Wednesday, July 23, turned into a sit-in program and went to the Mahipal Water Development Board office.

The general public, student community, and various volunteer organizations of Feni participated in the march.

8-point demands:

  1. Construction of sustainable and technology-based dams.
  2. Construction of dams under the supervision of the army.
  3. Stop river dredging, river management and illegal sand mining.

  5. Removal of illegal structures built by encroaching canals and filling in canals.
  6. Effective initiatives to resolve waterlogging in Feni city.
  7. Integrated planning of engineering organizations for disaster prevention.
  8. Transparently disclose the cost and distribution of the 2024 post-flood government rehabilitation project and provide actual damage data.
