BM Desk : Revenue collection would be larger this fiscal year than it was last, according to Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). However, as expected, a number of new obstacles are preventing the full results from being achieved.
On Monday, June 30, he made these statements to media at the NBR building.
According to the chairman, Tk 3,60,922 crore had been collected in revenue as of 10 a.m. today. Tomorrow, the whole account of the sum that will be put into the Treasury by today’s conclusion will be accessible. Reconciling the accounts of the funds obtained from the tax and VAT bills of government projects would also take some time. Additionally, he stated that usually takes two to three weeks to finalize the accounts for the month of June.
Additionally, he stated, “We now disclose revenue collection in a systematic manner. Manual reporting is no longer available. The “IBUS” mechanism is how we gather collection data.
Earlier, the “NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad,” an association of NBR staff, had been demonstrating for a week, calling for the NBR chairman to be fired and changes to the national revenue system. The ‘March to NBR’ and ‘Complete Shutdown’ initiatives have been in place for the last two days. However, at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, the group said that the demonstration would not be held any more in response to the government’s severe measures.

Hasan Muhammad Tarek Rikabder, president of the council and Additional Director General of the Audit, Intelligence and Investigation Department of the VAT Department, spoke on behalf of the NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad.
