Discussion meeting on the July Declaration in Jhenaidah: Thoughts of young political leaders

Imran Jhenaidah Correspondent: A discussion titled ‘July Declaration: Thoughts of Young Political Leaders’ took place in Jhenaidah. This event was organized by United People’s Bangladesh (UP Bangladesh) at a local restaurant on Thursday afternoon.

Participants included leaders from various student organizations, who were also fellow activists of the July Movement. Among those who spoke at the event were Rashed Khan, General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council; Dr. Monirul Islam from Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital; Mehedi Hasan Raju, President of the city camp; Nasir Al Saadi, NCP organizer; and Shahrin Sultana Ira, spokesperson for AAP Bangladesh.

The young leaders expressed that the political parties’ silence regarding the July Declaration represents a betrayal of the July mass uprising. They emphasized that the July movement was not merely the victory of a particular group, but rather a fight for the rights of the people, serving as a source of inspiration for the political awareness of the new generation. Unfortunately, this movement has yet to receive the recognition it deserves from the state or political entities, which is quite disheartening. The meeting called for the immediate publication of the July Declaration.
