Press conference on assaulting a creditor in Bhola

MA Mannan, Bhola: Mariam Begum, the wife of the deceased Abul Kalam of Charshuvi, Ward no five of Saidpur Union in Daulatkhan, Bhola, complained at a press conference that Rafizul Islam of the same area has assaulted her when she went to ask for money owed to him.

On Wednesday (May 27), she made this complaint at a press conference held at the district office of a newspaper in Bhola Town at 11 am Wednesday (May 27).

At the press conference, the victim Mariam Begum said, on 12/04/2023, Rafizul and his daughters Sarmin Begum, Shirina Begum, and son Md. Tarek came to me and asked for a loan of 4,25,000 taka for one year.

Since the said Rafizul is my relative, I handed over 4,25,000 taka to them through a stamp in the presence of all of them without thinking anything. While paying the said money, I told them that after one year, they would give me my entire money in one go.

But it is very sad, even though two years have passed instead of one year, they are still not paying me the money I owe. I keep asking them for my life’s money.

On May 23, at 11 am, when I went to ask for money, Rafiqul and his son and daughter beat me up mercilessly. When I tried to take legal action due to the beating, they denied the money I owe. On the contrary, they threatened me with various types of cases and threatened to hand me over to the police. They threatened to break into my house and drive me out of that area.

In this situation, I am seeking the help of the administration to get my due amount of 4,25,000 taka through press conference and am demanding a fair trial.
