B Mirror Desk : Sources at the Dhaka Stock Exchange disclosed that Agrani Insurance Company Limited, a capital market-listed company, reportedly declared a 12 percent dividend for investors for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, of which 6 percent is cash and the remaining 6 percent is bonus dividend. The record date for the company’s dividend was set on May 20. The regulatory body, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), has not yet given its approval to pay the declared bonus dividend to shareholders.
However, the record date will not take effect because the dividend distribution has not been approved by BSEC. If approved, the business will set a new record date.
The legislation states that a business cannot issue a bonus dividend without BSEC permission.
