Mansur Alam, Pabna: This year’s tree plantation program was inaugurated by Dr. Mansur Alam, president of Riverine People Pabna, writer and river researcher, by planting banyan tree saplings in the premises of Santhia Police Station.
Yesterday, Monday at 11:30 am, Officer-in-Charge of Santhia Police Station Md. Saidur Rahman was present as the chief guest in this tree plantation program. Also present were Inspector (Investigation) Md. Abdul Latif, SI Shri Ashutosh Sarkar, Chain Master of Santhia Bus Workers Association Md. Alamgir Hossain Alam, Member of Bus Owners Association Md. Abdus Salam, Santhia Bazar Trader Md. Mozahid Fakir, Tamim Bus Conductor Md. Nannu Hossain, etc. In addition, many Santhia bus and CNG-powered auto drivers were present at the time.
It is worth mentioning that since there was no shade tree on the roadside near Santhia Police Station and Government Pilot School, passengers and bus-CNG driver helpers were suffering from the scorching sun and heat for a long time. Thinking about them; In addition, considering that there was a traditional Kaori tree at that place in Santhia, which used to provide shade to hundreds of people coming to Santhia market, a banyan tree sapling was planted here. Basically, through the planting of this banyan tree sapling, the river and environmental organization Riverine People Pabna started this year’s tree plantation program.
