Vegetable and Chicken Prices Skyrocketing In Capital

B Mirror Desk : The cost of chicken has abruptly gone up in the Jadhani market. Furthermore, the cost of vegetables is also increasing. A visit to a number of markets, including Karwanbazar, Mirpur, Dhanmondi, Mugda, and Jatrabari, today, Saturday, May 3, has revealed such a scene.

When I went to Karwanbazar, I noticed that the majority of the vegetables cost more than 50 taka. A kilogram of bitter gourd costs 50–60 taka, a kilogram of brinjal costs 70–80 taka, a kilogram of barbati costs 70 taka, a kohi costs 60 taka, a lati costs 70 taka, a kankarol costs 100 taka, a dhandas costs 50 taka, a jhinghe costs 70 taka, and a tomato costs 30 taka. Additionally, papayas cost 70 Taka per kilogram, carrots 40 Taka, cucumbers 50 Taka, patol 50-60 Taka, and sajane data 100-120 Taka.

Going to the chicken market, it was seen that the prices have increased by 10-30 taka per kg in a week. Broiler chicken is being sold at 180-190 taka per kg, up by 10-20 taka per kg. Golden chicken is being sold at 250-270 taka per kg, up by 10-30 taka per kg. In addition, local chicken is being sold at 650-680 taka, white layer is being sold at 280 taka and red layer is being sold at 300 taka. And duck is being sold at 600-700 taka per piece depending on the breed.

Going to the beef and mutton shop, it is seen that beef is being sold at 750-800 taka per kg. In addition, mutton is being sold at 1,200 taka per kg and goat meat is being sold at 1,100 taka.

Going to the egg shop, it is seen that a dozen red eggs are being sold at 120-130 taka and white eggs are being sold at 115-120 taka. And a dozen duck eggs are being sold at 180-200 taka and local chicken eggs at 220 taka.

In the fish market, it can be seen that per kg of rui is being sold at 350-420 taka, katal is being sold at 380-450 taka, cultivated horn is being sold at 550 taka, cultivated koi is being sold at 200-250 taka, magur is being sold at 500 taka, coral is being sold at 750 taka, pangash is being sold at 180-230 taka and tilapia is being sold at 150-220 taka.

In addition, per kg of chalkumara is being sold at 40 taka and per kg of gourd is being sold at 40-60 taka. Green chillies are being sold at 80-100 taka. At the wholesale level, which is being bought and sold at 70 taka. And coriander leaves are being sold at 200 taka per kg, increasing by more than 50 taka per kg.

On the other hand, per kg of local onion is being sold at 60 to 65 taka. Potatoes are being sold at 20-22 taka per kg. In addition, per kg of ginger is being sold at 120 taka. And per kg of imported garlic is being sold at 180 to 220 taka and per kg of local garlic is being sold at 80 to 100 taka.

Additionally, boal costs between 750 and 850 taka per kilogram, poa costs 450 taka, ai costs 800-900 taka, tengra costs 650-700 taka, desi koi costs 1,300 to 1,700 taka, and desi shing costs 1,400 to 1,500 taka.

The price of one kilogram of hilsa is 2,200 taka. Additionally, 2,500 taka is the price of a hilsa weighing 1.5 kg, while 2,000 taka is the price of a hilsa weighing 800-900 grams. Additionally, you must pay up to 1,400–1,500 taka for hilsa that weigh 500–600 grams.
