M A Mannan, Bhola: A humanchain have been organized in Borhanuddin, Bhola, demanding justice for rape of Dakhil examinee.

The humanchain was organized at around 11 am yesterday in Hasan Nagar Union of the upazila. The speakers in the humanchain demanded the maximum punishment of hanging against the accused Omar Kazi.

Earlier, on Friday, around 11 pm at night, when she went to the toilet outside the house, the accused Omar Faruq dragged the examinee by the face and took her to the middle of the garden and violated his modesty.

The accused Omar Kazi is the son of Bashir Kazi in Hasan Nagar Union of the upazila.
The victim said, ” One subject of my Dakhil examination has just ended. I am preparing for the remaining exams. When I went to the toilet just outside the house at around 11 at night, the rapist Omar Kazi, who had been waiting there, caught me. Before I knew nothing, he grabbed my face and took me inside the garden, made me scream and raped me.

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother said, “My daughter fainted after being raped. While I was going to inform local dignitaries about the incident that night, he (Omar Kazi) also tried to kill me by wrapping a towel around my neck on the way. During this, the rapist Omar was scared by a crowd of people and flee away.

The victim was immediately taken to Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex. After the doctor on duty gave primary treatment, she was sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment. Dr. Taybur Rahman of Bhola Sadar Hospital said, we have provided all kinds of treatment. Details can be given after completing the tests. However, the patient’s condition is now out of danger.

Siddiqur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Borhanuddin Police Station, said, “Our team immediately went to the spot after we had heard about the incident. A case has been filed and the process of arresting the accused is underway.”
