Accusation for sale of soil from 3 crop lands in Rajbari

Md. Nazrul Islam, Rajbari District Correspondent: In Rajbari, there has been a complaint of illegally cutting and selling crop land with bulldozers and dredgers in violation of government laws. Local farmers have filed written complaints with various offices including the District Commissioner seeking redressal. Even though the administration has stopped cutting the soil, they have been cutting the soil and taking it in trucks since Thursday morning.

Abdul Quader Kha, Yunus Kha, Liakat Ali, farmers of Alipur village of Alipur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila said that Aziz Sardar sometimes tries to sell the soil from 3 crop lands in Alipur Mauza of Alipur Union with dredger and veku. The land on the east and west side of his land is ours. Due to the fact that he cut and sold the soil and sand, there is a danger of destruction of our cropland. Trucks are cutting and taking soil and sand with public roads for sale without following government instructions. When the local people blocked the movement, on April 5, about 60-70 outsiders came and started cutting the soil with veku. Later, after being closed for a few days due to the administration’s restrictions, the soil has been cut and sold again from Thursday. This land produces 3-4 crops in a year. If we don’t stop cutting the soil from this land, the arable and crop lands next to us will all be destroyed.

In this regard, Rajbari Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Magia Haque said, the matter will be investigated and action takenwill be done
