After Eid break Metro rail, intercity trains resume operations

B Mirror Desk : Following a one-day pause for Eid, metro rail services in the capital and intercity train operations nationwide have resumed.

On Tuesday morning, both public transportation systems commenced operations according to their regular schedules.

As is customary, the first metro rail journey departed from Uttara North station heading to Motijheel at 7:10 AM, while the initial train from Motijheel to Uttara North station left at 7:30 AM.

Additionally, sources from Kamalapur railway station reported that the first intercity train post-Eid, the Parjatak Express, set off for Cox’s Bazar at 6:15 AM.

Previously, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced that metro rail services would be suspended solely on Eid day, with operations returning to normal on subsequent days.

Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain had indicated in an inter-ministerial meeting prior to Eid that intercity train services would be halted on Eid day.

Nevertheless, all weekly train holidays were canceled ahead of Eid, and regular schedules would be reinstated thereafter.
