BSC gets approval for 6 container ships

The Planning Commission has given preliminary approval to the listed company Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) to acquire 6 container ships (each 2,500-3,000 TEU).

This information was revealed by DSE sources.

According to the sources, these ships will be acquired from South Korea at a cost of 330.3 million US dollars (approx.). For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Korea’s EDCF and BSC; under which EDCF is examining the feasibility of the project.

The project will be completed subject to the approval of Korea’s EDCF. Moreover, another project of 6 container ships (each 2,800 – 3,000 TEU) has been initiated.
