Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has come under the notice of deliberate attempts to spread various types of misinformation and rumors to destabilize the country’s capital market and economy.
These baseless rumors and false information purposefully published and disseminated on various issues related to the capital market on online platforms including social media are factually incorrect and completely baseless. It is a legally punishable crime to spread any kind of false information and rumors including social media, cyber and online, undisclosed information about capital markets, share price forecasting or prediction etc. In the interest of the capital market and investors, all those related to the capital market are requested to completely refrain from publishing or spreading such rumors and false information.
Everyone is instructed to refrain from disseminating or disseminating baseless information about the capital market without proper analysis or research, otherwise strict action will be taken against those involved in such activities. Note that under the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Research Analysis) Rules, 2013, only a Research Analyst (Research Analyst) can make predictions or predictions through research and analysis on various aspects of the capital market. Dissemination of such information or forecasts by anyone other than a research analyst would be a violation of law.
Above all, those who intentionally spread baseless rumors and false information are warned that those involved in spreading or spreading rumors or false information will be immediately brought under the law by taking appropriate action against them. A list is being prepared of those who are spreading baseless rumors and false information on various capital market issues or trying to mislead investors by propagating baseless predictions about the market and BSEC will soon take strict legal action against them. Investors in the country’s capital market are advised not to be misled by such rumors or misinformation.
