Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that the government has met the fair demands of the workers and removed their dissatisfaction.

He said this during a courtesy meeting with British High Commissioner Sarah Cook in his office at the Secretariat yesterday. In the meeting, the labor adviser said, “There was some dissatisfaction among the workers at the beginning of taking charge of the ministry.” We have been able to remove the grievances of the workers by fulfilling their just demands. A working environment has now been created in garment factories.

Asif Mahmud commented that the dictatorial government fell through the simultaneous movement of students, workers and masses, and said, “More than 100 workers lost their lives in this movement.” Many of the injured are still receiving treatment at the hospital. The government has borne the responsibility of their treatment.

The advisor also said that the ministry will take initiatives to train the workers to make them aware of their responsibilities and rights.
