The market capitalization decreased by Tk.5 thousand 250 crores.

Last week (October 14-17) the country’s stock market fell. So that investors’ portfolio or investment has decreased by 5 thousand 250 crores. Trading fell 13 percent during the week.

It is reported that the market capitalization of DSE at the beginning of last week was Tk.6 lakh 74 thousand 416 crore. And at the end of the last working day of the week, the market capitalization stood at 6 lakh 69 thousand 166 crores. That is, the investors’ portfolio has decreased by 5 thousand 250 crores or 0.78 percent during the week.

1 thousand 272 crore 3 lakh Taka were traded in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in the outgoing week. 1 thousand 466 crore 73 lakh Taka were traded in the previous week. That is, the transaction in DSE has decreased by 194 crore 70 lakh Taka or 13 percent during the week.

During the week, DSE’s main index DSEX fell by 164 points or 3 percent to 5258 points. Among other indices, the Shariah index decreased by 32 points or 3 percent to 1174 points.

A total of 396 institutional shares and units were traded on DSE in the outgoing week. Among institutions, 34 rose or 8.58 percent, 345 fell or 87.12 percent and 17 remained unchanged or 4.29 percent.

Another stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) traded in the amount of Tk.30 crore 21 lakh in the outgoing week. During the week, CSE’s overall index CASPI fell by 314 points or 2 percent to 14,821 points.

Shares and units of 296 institutions were traded on CSE during the week. Among the institutions, 69 increased, 216 decreased and 11 remained unchanged.
