Islamic Development Bank will give five billion dollar loan.

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is going to give a loan of 400 to 500 million dollars or 4 to 5 billion dollars to Bangladesh to deal with the adverse effects of fuel oil crisis and climate change. It is said that this loan will come step by step in the next three years. The government can also use the loan money for related infrastructure development.

On Tuesday (Tuesday 17), the current interim government’s finance and trade advisor Dr. Nachchis Sulaiman, Regional Hub Manager of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) gave this information after meeting with Salehuddin Ahmed.

He said that the IDB will provide financial assistance in the construction of roads that have been affected by floods recently, including physical infrastructure. Besides, the energy and power sector will also be supported.

Finance and trade adviser said, IDB is interested in investing in sectors like Cyclone Centre, renovation of flood-damaged infrastructure, development of marginal communication system, construction of big buildings like Twin Towers.
