Chinese company will invest 74 million dollars in Bepza.

The Chinese company Ease Bangladesh Company Limited will set up a shoe manufacturing plant in the country. This export-oriented factory will be built in Bepza Economic Zone located in Mirsrai, Chittagong.

EasyBangladesh Company Limited will invest 74 lakh 50 thousand US dollars or 89 crore 40 lakh taka (120 taka per dollar) to set up the factory. And 1 thousand 509 Bangladeshi citizens will be employed here. The company will manufacture various materials to make 1 crore pairs of shoes annually.

For this purpose, the Chinese company signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) located on Green Road in the capital today. Bepza Member (Investment Development) Md. Ashraful Kabir and Jeen Zayi, Managing Director (MD) of EasyBangladesh Company Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

At the contract signing ceremony, Bepza executive chairman Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, member Mohammad Farooq Alam and ANM Faizul Haque, executive director Md. Tanveer Hossain, Bepza Economic Zone Project Director Mohammad Enamul Haque and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez were present.

Bepza said that so far 32 companies have signed agreements to set up industries in the Bepza Economic Zone. The total proposed investment of these institutions is 718.5 million US dollars.
