Returning smuggled money is one of the priorities of the government: Dr. Yunus

The Chief Advisor of the Interim Government said that one of the priorities of the government is to bring back the billions of dollars smuggled during the 15-year dictatorial regime of Sheikh Hasina. Muhammad Yunus.

On Monday (September 2), international human rights lawyer Toby Cadman, chief adviser to the interim government, said. He said this when he went to pay a courtesy call on Muhammad Yunus.

Toby Cadman is a British lawyer, human rights activist, extradition specialist and co-head of The Genocide 37 law firm based in London.

Cadman Dr. He told Yunus that the indiscriminate firing by the law enforcement forces on the general student crowd in July and August is direct genocide. He said that crimes against humanity were committed during the revolution. He suggested forming a domestic tribunal to try these murders.

Cadman said Bangladesh needs to quickly establish an effective domestic legal framework for truth, justice and accountability, which will be duly supported by the international community and accepted by the people of Bangladesh.

Presenting several proposals to the Chief Adviser, the British lawyer said they are ready to support Bangladesh in its efforts to create a framework for extradition of persons involved in crimes against humanity, economic crimes and political corruption. We want to work to bring back those who have fled the country.

The Chief Counsel asked to submit his proposals in written form. He said his government was committed to internationally acceptable trials for those who ordered and carried out the massacres during the student-led revolution.
