The much-discussed provision to whiten black money is being cancelled. The interim government has decided to stop this provision.
The decision was taken at the advisory council meeting held at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna on Thursday.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, gave this information at the end of the meeting. He is also an advisor to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Rizwana Hasan said at Yamuna gate, it was decided in the meeting to stop the rules and customs of making black money white. The amount of money the government can get from it, the government does not advance much with the money. But values are degraded. It has been decided. Action against money laundering has been started.
Besides, in the meeting, the ‘Protection of the Family Members of the Father of the Nation Act 2009’ enacted for the protection of the family members of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was amended. In the meeting, the Advisory Council gave in-principle and final approval to the draft of the ‘Safety of Family Members of the Father of the Nation (Repeal) Ordinance, 2024’.
