The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has summoned a total of 91 bank accounts of businessman S Alam and his family members. Today Thursday (August 15) a letter in this regard has been sent to various banks from Capital Tax Zone-15 of Income Tax Department of NBR.
According to sources, the bank accounts of S Alam’s (Saiful Alam) wife Farzana Parveen, mother Chemon Ara Begum and brother Abdullah Hasan have been subpoenaed. Besides, the bank account information of their parents, spouse, son, daughter or sister in the joint name or in the name of the business has also been summoned. This means, NBR has sought all the bank account details of S Alam including his entire family members.
Apart from this, credit card information in their name has also been sought. Apart from banks, financial institutions, the Directorate of National Savings and the Department of Posts have sought information on accounts held by Tax Zone-15.
S Alam’s wife Farzana Parveen, brother Abdullah Hasan is the director of S Alam Luxury Chair Coach Service, S Alam Cold Rolled Steel Limited. RS Alam’s mother Chemon Ara Begum S Alam is the director of Luxury Chair Coach Service.
