Nobel laureate economist welcomed the formation of the interim government of Bangladesh with Yunus as the chief advisor. Along with that, they pledged to work to increase communication and cooperation with Bangladesh.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that China is aware of the formation of an interim government in Bangladesh. They welcomed this government. China is fundamentally opposed to interference in the internal affairs of any country.

He said that China has respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bangladesh and the development path that the people of Bangladesh have independently chosen. We are steadfast in the principle of friendship with Bangladesh.

The spokesperson also said that the friendship between China and Bangladesh is long-standing and very deep. China considers relations with Bangladesh as important. China is ready to work with Bangladesh to develop bilateral communication and cooperation in various fields and to further advance integrated strategic cooperative partnership.
