The lowest average transaction in the country’s stock market in June

In the first two months of the financial year ended 2023-24, the indices and transactions showed an upward trend. But since then, the share price has been falling intermittently and trading has seen a consistent decline. The last month of June saw the lowest average transaction in the stock market.

According to EBL Securities’ monthly share bar review, the daily average trading volume of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in June was the lowest in the last year. The average daily transaction during the month under review was $39 million, the lowest in a year.

The average daily transaction in DSE last year was 76 million in June, 72 million in July, 4 million in August, 57 million in September, 42 million in October, 39 million in November, and 49 million in December.

The average daily transaction in January this year was 65 million, in February 115 million, in March 54 million, in April 47 million and in May it stood at 57 million dollars. Which became 3 crore 9 million dollars in June.

However, in June, the market capitalization of the stock market increased to 106 million dollars. Last April, the market capitalization was $5,555 million, which stood at $5,612 million in May. The ratio of GDP to market capitalization stood at 12.02 percent last month.

Currently, the country’s stock price-earnings ratio (PE ratio) is 15.13.
