Stock market falls on negative news of capital gains.

The negative news that capital gains tax is not canceled or withdrawn in the final budget of the fiscal year 2024-25 has seen a downward trend in both the country’s stock markets since the beginning of trading today (June 30).

Within 12 minutes of trading, the main stock market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) main index DSEX fell more than 65 points. At this time a kind of unknown panic is created among the investors.

However, as the trading hours progressed, the fall in the index was reduced. During this period, the prices of some shares of large-cap foundations are seen to increase. As a result, the decline in the index continues.

DSE’s main index fell below 20 within an hour of trading. Then again the index of cell pressure declines. At 1:00 AM, the index remained in line with the previous day. But it did not last long. The cell pressure index goes back again. After 1:15 PM, the index started to fall again. Which was settled at 27 points at the end.

However, although there was a negative trend in the index, there was a positive trend in the transaction. On this day, the transaction in DSE increased by 7 crores more than the previous day and cleared 712 crores.

Sunday market review

Today, Sunday (39 June), the main index of DSE, DSEX, is down by 27 points at 5,328 points. Among the other two indices, the DSE Shariah index was down 3.51 points at 1,180 points and the DSE-30 index was down 12.92 points at 1,909 points.

Shares and units worth Tk 712 crore 68 lakh were traded in DSE today. 705 crore 83 lakh taka were traded on the previous working day.

However, CSE saw record trading today. On this day, transactions in CSE exceeded 624 crore taka.

Shares and units of 398 companies were traded on DSE today. Among them, 92 rates increased, 268 decreased and 38 remained unchanged.

Another share market, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CAE), traded shares and units worth Tk 624 crore 30 lakh today. Shares and units worth Tk 115 crore 92 lakh were traded the previous day.

Shares and units of 241 companies were traded on the previous day. Among them, 134 shares increased, 69 decreased and 38 companies’ shares and units remained unchanged.
