Experts Emphasize Boosting Milk Production to Combat Malnutrition

Livestock experts convened at a discussion with a resounding call to action: ramp up milk production and consumption to combat malnutrition, thus contributing to a healthier society and nation at large.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of milk in nation-building, they unanimously stressed its significance for the physical and cognitive development of children. Thus, ensuring fair milk pricing and safe supply became paramount.

In a collaborative effort, the District Administration and the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) in Rajshahi orchestrated a dialogue at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, commemorating “World Milk Day-2024” under the Livestock and Dairy Development Project’s auspices.

This year’s World Milk Day themed around spotlighting dairy’s crucial role in furnishing quality nutrition to nourish global populations.

The theme endeavors to educate people about dairy’s significant contributions to nutrition, health, and overall well-being.

Observed annually on June 1st, World Milk Day advocates for the importance of milk and dairy products in sustaining balanced diets.

Since its inception in 2000, this annual celebration has served as a platform to raise awareness about milk’s multifaceted health benefits, given its rich nutritional profile, boasting essential nutrients like calcium, protein, and fat.
