The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has signed an API (Application Programming Interface) sharing agreement with its nine member brokers (brokerage houses). The API sharing agreement was held at the CSE’s Dhaka office on Monday (November 25).
This information was given in a press release signed by CSC Public Relations Officer Tania Begum on Tuesday (November 26).
The brokers that have signed the agreement are Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Limited, Bank Asia Securities Limited, UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, NLI Securities Limited, Green Delta Securities Limited, Islami Bank Securities Limited, Monarch Holdings Limited, One Securities Limited and EBL Securities Limited.
With this agreement, the brokers have taken another step forward in providing services to their customers.
At the bilateral agreement signing ceremony, CSE Deputy General Manager and Head of IT Services Hasnain Bari and the concerned officials on behalf of the treks signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
At that time, CSE Managing Director M Saifur Rahman Majumder, Head of Listing Compliance, Clearing and Settlement AKM Shahroz Alam, respected representatives from the concerned treks and other senior officials of CSE were present.
CSE Managing Director M Saifur Rahman Majumder said that this agreement execution process is timely for the trek holders and effective for increasing the trading opportunities. Through the API sharing agreement, the trecs will be able to accelerate the trading activities by using their OMS (Order Management System) and RMS (Risk Management System). This is basically an integrated system through which the participation of brokers in both the markets will be ensured. In particular, it will be able to prevent short selling and the trader will be able to take quick decisions by easily viewing the comparative presence of shares in both the DSE and CSE markets on one platform. This technology will further advance the trend of capital market transactions.
It is worth noting that several trec holder companies have already applied to the CSE to connect to the Millennium Matching Engine API and trade through their own OMS. Among these, several trec holder companies have signed this agreement.
