The 7th BIGTEX—Bangladesh International Garment and Textile Machinery Expo—will begin on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka. Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun is expected to inaugurate the exposition, which will continue until October 28.
RedCarpet Global Limited, the organizer of the BIGTEX expo, disclosed details about the mega exhibition at a press conference on Sunday at the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) auditorium in the city.
The organizers said targeting the entire textile, garment, and apparel industry, they are organizing five international exhibitions simultaneously at the same place: the Bangladesh International Fabric & Yarn Expo, the Bangladesh International Printing, Packaging, and Signage Expo, the Bangladesh International Dyes, Pigments, and Chemicals Expo, and the 3P Expo, the Bangladesh International Paper, Printing, and Packaging Expo.
These exhibitions will also play an important role by showcasing the latest machinery, technologies, dyes, chemicals, yarns, and fabrics available for Bangladesh on display, with manufacturers and suppliers from around the world available to our industry at our doorstep. Also, the expo will provide an opportunity for experts, engineers, and technicians in the field of textiles to gain practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available without going abroad.
Ahmed Imtiaz, CEO of Redcarpet Global, mentioned that the expo will have almost 160 stalls from 12 countries, including Asia and Europe.
“Bangladesh holds the position of the 2nd largest apparel exporter in the world and forecasts a target of $100 billion in exports by 2030. It needs quality garment and textile machinery, equipment, technology, printing and packaging machinery, signage, yarn, fabric, trims, accessories, dyes, pigments, and chemicals at the best price. This expo will help manufacturers and dealers showcase their products, so Bangladesh garment and textile factory owners and apparel exporters can get in touch with them,” said Imtiaz.
This Expo will be open to general and trade visitors from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm every day.
