On the final working day of the week, the primary stock market of the country, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), is experiencing an upward trend. In the initial two hours of trading today, the share prices of 249 companies have risen.
This information was disclosed by sources from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
As per the source, one and a half hours after trading commenced on Thursday (July 19) until 12:00 pm, the main index of the DSE, known as ‘DSEX’, increased by 35 points, reaching 5,153 points.
In addition to the main index, the Shariah index, referred to as ‘DSES’, saw an increase of 7.17 points. Meanwhile, the ‘DS-30’ index rose by 15.80 points.
During this timeframe, a total of 370 crore 25 lakh taka worth of shares and units were traded on the DSE.
Among the companies traded, 249 saw their prices rise, 97 experienced a decline, and 67 remained stable.
