According to the report, the country received 242.5 million fifty thousand US dollars in remittances in the first twenty-eight days of this December. Additionally, remittances came in at 205.2 million dollars in November of last year and 216.4 million dollars in October of the same year. In contrast to October and November, the remittance flow increased during the first four weeks of December.

According to the report, 689.5 million eighty thousand US dollars passed through state-owned banks in the first four weeks of December. Furthermore, $92.69 million in remittances were processed by specialized banks, $1.63 billion by private banks, and $6.92 billion by foreign banks.

The Central Bank reports that from December 22 to December 28, remittances totaling $413.32 million were sent. From December 15 to 21, $625.87 million in remittances were received. From December 8 to 14, $764.91 million in remittances were received. Additionally, foreigners sent $616.45 million in remittances during the first week of December.

Based on an analysis of Central Bank data, Islami Bank was the bank in the nation that received the most foreign income in the first 28 days of December. The bank’s foreign income came to $334.29 million. Second in terms of foreign income is Agrani Bank. The bank received $254.31 million. Then $199.5 million came through Sonali Bank, $182.7 million through BRAC Bank, and $185 million through Trust Bank.

The first month of the current fiscal year, July, saw the lowest amount of expatriate income in the previous ten months, at roughly $1.91 billion. The remittance flow has been steadily rising, nevertheless, since the interim administration assumed power.

It is noteworthy that the largest remittance in the previous five years occurred in July 2020. Remittances from overseas citizens to the nation totaled $2.598 billion in that month.
