According to a press release from the US embassy on Wednesday, 17,000 metric tons of essential food aid for Rohingyas arrived at Chittagong port.

Produced by American farmers, the food will be distributed through the World Food Program as part of the United States’ assistance to over a million Rohingya in critical need.

“We encourage other donors and international partners to step up and provide additional resources to distribute the burden sharing,” the statement read.
