Md. Nazrul Islam, Rajbari District Correspondent:17 ferries and 22 launches will ply on the important Daulatdia-Paturia waterway in the southwestern part of the country on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

This information was given in a meeting organized at Rajbari District Commissioner’s conference room at around 11 o’clock on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on the Daulatdia-Paturia route to ensure proper management of the wharf and smooth movement of passengers including ferry and launch.

Rajbari District Commissioner Sultana Akhter is presiding over the meeting. 17 ferries and 22 launches will be plying to bring homebound people home during the upcoming Eid. Almost all preparations have been completed and 3 ghats will be operational at Daulatdia end.

Apart from this, there will be a mobile court team with several levels of security measures of the district police to prevent traffic jams and harassment in the ghat area.

Apart from district and police administration officials, officials of various departments including health, BIWTC, BIWTA, fire service, road department were present in the meeting.
