Bangladesh’s historic Test victory over Pakistan.
In 2003, Bangladesh lost the Multan Test despite coming very close to victory. Inzamam-ul-Haq saved Pakistan by breaking the hearts of the Tigers of Seva. After more than two decades, the roar of tigers in Rawalpindi! Nazmul Hossain Shantar’s team is in the driving seat from the beginning of the fourth day. But that memory of Multan has haunted me for a long time. At least as long as Mohammad Rizwan was on the wicket. In the end, this wicketkeeper batsman could not be the Inzamam of Multan despite some resistance. As a result, Bangladesh got the taste of Test victory against Pakistan for the first time.
Bangladesh had lost 12 out of 13 Tests against Pakistan earlier. The best success was a draw. That elusive win against Pakistan has finally caught up. That too at the opponent’s home ground, by a huge margin of 10 wickets.
After losing the toss in Rawalpindi, Pakistan declared their innings by scoring 448 runs for 6 wickets. Bangladesh lost all wickets in the first innings and scored 565 runs, leading by 117 runs. The hosts could not score more than 146 runs in their second innings. Bangladesh reached the port of victory without losing any wicket after playing for the target of 30 runs.
