The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), raising the cost of a 12kg cylinder by Tk 223 to Tk 2,060.
Previously, a 12kg LPG cylinder was priced at Tk 1,837.
BERC issued a notification announcing the revised prices on Monday evening (November 2). The new rates came into effect from 8:00pm the same day.
Prices of all LPG cylinders, ranging from 5kg to 45kg, have also been increased.
Earlier, on October 29, the technical evaluation committee of BERC proposed raising the retail price of a 12kg LPG cylinder from Tk 1,837 to Tk 1,976.
