A press release reveals that Tajel Islam became a victim of a targeted attack by the local gang known as ‘Rafiq Bahini’ in Naora village of Rupganj upazila.
During the attack in Kayetpara Union on Monday, Tajel sustained a gunshot wound to the eye. Out of the 13 individuals injured in the incident, five are still receiving medical attention in various private hospitals.
As of the latest update, the victims attempted to file a case at Rupganj police station, but the police did not register the case.
Officer-in-Charge Deepak Chandra Saha stated that appropriate action would be taken if the truth behind the incident is established, assuring an investigation into the complaint.

The attack unfolded when approximately 50 to 60 assailants, affiliated with Kayetpara union’s former chairman Rafiqul Islam and his brother Mizanur Rahman, targeted Naora village on Monday afternoon.
Thirteen people, including eight gunshot victims, suffered injuries during the incident.
Tajel Islam, the son of Moktar Hossain, was specifically targeted and swiftly transferred to the capital for advanced medical treatment.
