Chief advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will address the opening session of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at the Conference of the Parties-29 (COP29) today (Wednesday).
On Wednesday, the Chief Adviser will address the opening session of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at COP29 between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm Bangladesh time. The press wing of the Chief Adviser reported this information.
The COP29 conference began on Tuesday in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Professor Yunus is now in Baku on a 4-day visit to attend the Climate Conference. Besides, Chief Adviser Professor Yunus had a busy day on the opening day of COP29 in Baku.
According to a message received, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, head of the interim government of Bangladesh met with at least 20 top leaders of various countries and heads of international organizations. He also met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish First Lady at the World Leaders Summit at the COP29 venue.
He also met the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the sidelines of the Global Climate Conference.
The Chief Adviser also met and greeted Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, President of Maldives Mohammad Muijju, Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobge and President of Nepal Ramchandra Podel.
Among others, Professor Yunus met the Prime Minister of Belgium, the President of Ghana, the Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of Rwanda, the Prime Minister of Albania, the President of Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Vice Presidents of Brazil and Iran, the FIFA President and the Director General of IOM.
Besides, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al Sharif, Ahmed Al Tayeb, met Professor Yunus at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Baku that day.
