A discussion was convened in Chittagong addressing the challenges hindering the increased participation of women in LGED projects focused on rural infrastructure development.
The dialogue emphasized the need to create a conducive working environment for women involved in the projects.
The discussion, conducted at the training room of LGED in Chittagong on Wednesday, delved into issues such as ensuring equitable rights for both male and female workers, wage allowances, safety measures for female workers, security, and fostering a supportive working atmosphere.
Mahbubur Rahman, Supervising Engineer of the Chittagong Region of the Local Government Engineering Directorate, presided over the meeting. The participants included CSDF Project Coordinator Shampa K Nahar, BME Engineer Kalha Ye, LGED Executive Engineer Biswajit Dutta, Senior Assistant Engineer Suman Talukdar, Deputy Director of District Women Affairs Directorate Madhavi Barua, Assistant Director of Social Services Directorate Kamrul Pasha Bhuiya and many others were present on that discussion.
