The country’s well known travel tech platform, ShareTrip, launched a digital wallet called ST Pay (ShareTrip Pay) at a city hotel on Sunday.
ShareTrip has developed features in its digital payment solutions, including shops, vouchers, mobile recharge, and paying bills.
The digital wallet launch marks ShareTrip’s 4th anniversary celebration. The wallet was launched with a renewed determination to add value to users’ experiences.
ShareTrip also announced at the celebration a second round of investment from Startup Bangladesh Limited (SBL).
The State Minister of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, was present as the chief guest. The ICT Division Secretary, Md. Shamsul Arefin, was the special guest, and Sami Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Startup Bangladesh Ltd., was the guest of honor.
Speaking at the event, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said ShareTrip had been making significant contributions to the country’s tourism sector by seamlessly aligning travel with technology.
“Now they are working to expand their horizons and introduce an array of lifestyle features, ensuring convenience in all aspects,” the state minister said.
Sadia Haque, co-founder and CEO of ShareTrip, said their journey has been a relentless pursuit of global milestones and transforming travel experiences for everyone.
“With the introduction of ST Pay, we’re not just redefining the travel industry but also fostering a smarter economy in Bangladesh,” she said.
A total of 43 awards in different categories, including airline, hotels, agents, financial institutions, corporate, telco, etc., were distributed among ShareTrip’s partners.
