State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has said that public holidays are not increasing in Bangladesh. However, public transport and educational institutions will remain closed till June 15.
He told BBC Bangla that the general holiday will not be extended from May 31. However, everyone has to abide by the health rules till June 15.
He said that even if the general holiday does not increase, public transport and all kinds of educational institutions will remain closed till June 15. Bangladesh has been on a public holiday since March 26 to prevent coronavirus infection. This holiday is ending on 30th May by increasing it by seven points. Public transport, educational institutions and all kinds of offices and courts are closed during public holidays. However, emergency services were limited and some offices, including banks, were open. Later some government offices and garment establishments were opened.
