Police arrests Padma Bank’s loan defaulter Ashraful Alam

Padma Bank PLC has initiated tough action to recover defaulted loans. As part of it, Ashraful Alam, Alias Salim, the owner of M/S Tiasha Mini Auto Rice Mill, the borrowing company of the Bakshiganj branch of the Sherpur district of the bank, has been arrested recently.

Padma Bank has filed Financial Issue Session Case No. 428/18 and CR Case No. 236/17 with the Jamalpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court to recover the total loan outstanding amount of Tk 26 crore and 37 Lac (approx.), reads a press release.

The learned court issued a conviction warrant of arrest order under NI Act on June 12, 2022. 

Consequently, on January 26, 2024, with the assistance of the Padma Bank Recovery Task ForceTeam, Baghaichhari Thana Police of Rangamati arrested Ashraful Alam, alias Salim and sent him to jail complying with the court order.
