The High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka hosted a reception in honor of the National Women Cricket Teams of Pakistan on Wednesday in Dhaka. The reception, held at High Commission premises, was attended by the members and management of both teams, members of the diplomatic community, Bangladeshi cricket fans, and members of the Pakistani community in Bangladesh.
Welcoming the two teams, the Pak High Commissioner, Syed Ahmed Maroof Maroof said, “Cricket is one of the many things that connect Bangladesh and Pakistan.” He congratulated the Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team on winning the T20 series and wished both teams the best for Friday’s One Day International, the final match of the three-match series, which is presently tied 1-1.
Shoriful Alam Chowdhury, Chairman of the Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team and a director of the BCB, also spoke at the ceremony. He presented a signed jersey of the Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team to the High Commissioner.
The guests relished both Pakistani and Bangladeshi food while also enjoying traditional Pakistani music.
