Mercantile Bank donates fertilizer to Daganbhuiyan farmers

In an effort to support local agriculture, Mercantile Bank PLC distributed 1,700 bags of fertilizer to farmers in Daganbhuiyan on Saturday, February 10. The initiative, funded by the bank’s dedicated CSR fund, aims to address fertilizer shortages and boost crop yields in the region.

The distribution ceremony, held at Ataturk Government High School, saw participation from Al-Haj Akram Hossain (Humayun), Sponsor Director & Chairman of the bank’s Executive Committee, who served as the chief guest.

Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of the bank, presided over the event.

Master Kamal Uddin, President of Daganbhuiyan Upazila Awami League & Chairman of Ramnagar Union Parishad, and Rokshana Siddiqi, Woman Vice Chairperson of Daganbhuiyan, attended as special guests.

Local union chairmen, including Nur Nabi (1 No. Sindurpur Union), Masud Raihan (3 No. Purba Chandrapur Union), and Belayat Ullah Swapan (Dganbhuiyan Sadar Union), expressed their appreciation for the bank’s support.

Farmers from Daganbhuiyan also welcomed the initiative, highlighting the timely assistance it provides during the planting season.

This donation reflects Mercantile Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting agricultural development and rural communities in Bangladesh.

The bank’s CSR initiatives encompass various areas, including education, healthcare, and environmental protection.
